Update Time: Big Ray album news
Not sure if anyone’s reading updates on this site anymore because - along with all of my online concerns - I’ve let this one slip really badly. Anyhoo, in case anyone IS still out there and checking this blog I just wanted to post a quick update re the new Big Ray tracks. Things are actually progressing pretty well given the lack of time and money that anyone involved in the recordings...

Billy No Mates: Oslo 16th September
We’re just finalising the details, but it looks very much like Billy No Mates will be playing at the awesome Blitz club in Oslo on Friday 16th September. It would have been Saturday the 17th, but once again a Billy gig clashes with a Milloy gig, so we have to be back in time for Wes to play with his other band. Never mind; I’m sure the Friday will be better anyway :-)

Billy No Mates: Heave Ho Britain!
April 11th, 2011 by Ed
The new Billy 7″ is out later this week on Household Name Records and I thought I’d knock up a little promo video with material shot by me and two lovely people on YouTube during the recent UK tour (if 5 dates in a row constitute a tour). Hope you like it.

Billy No Mates: Spring 2011 UK Dates
February 8th, 2011 by Ed
Billy is playing a few UK dates from the end of March. Nice! We’ll have copies of the latest album, Duck, Duck Goose on sale at the gigs. So far it’s only been released in Japan, so if you need a copy (and you know you do) then this is your chance.

New Big Ray Album and other news
May 17th, 2010 by Ed
I’ve not posted anything here for a while and I haven’t got any gigs coming up, but I have been reasonably busy. In the interests of brevity, here’s a quick roundup of what’s happened so far in 2010.
I played guitar on a couple of tracks from the new Billy No Mates album, which I think is going to be called “Duck, Duck, Goose“. The album’s not mixed yet, but I’ve heard a...

Sink Live: AJZ, Bielefeld (1990)
January 8th, 2010 by Ed
Sink did a big 9 week, joint-headline tour of Europe (including dates in the UK) with our bestest buddies from Washington DC, Shudder To Think. They had just released Tenspot on Dischord and would record Funeral At The Movies at Southern in London directly after the tour. Shudder were my favourite band at the time and I think I got to see them 53 times that summer....

Liquidman: Bird’s Nest 17th December 2009
December 22nd, 2009 by Ed
Seams (live) Squirrels (live)
Our good friend and former K-Line drummer, James Sherry, was on hand at the Bird’s Nest gig last week to take some pictures and record a few minutes of video. Turns out the room was too dark for you to see anything on the video, but the sound quality was decent enough, so I cut that out and have uploaded the 2 songs as audio...

Liquidman: ‘Blue Noodles’ in Cambridge
December 20th, 2009 by Ed
Here’s a taste of the Cambridge gig from last night. The lights a bit irritating and mean that you can’t really make out Tom & Rich, but at least the sound doesn’t distort which is nice. We’re playing the old Sink song, Blue Noodles.

We have arranged an extra Liquidman gig courtesy of our buddies, Kev & Symes. Their new band, Shut The Fuck Up, is putting on a gig in Deptford on Dec 17th and we’re lucky enough to be a late addition to the bill. Flyer below (we were too late to make it on). It’s a free gig which is good news. Will post more here when I find it out - i.e. what time we’ll be...

I’ve spent 2 years waiting for the final 2 YDM songs to get mixed before posting the whole session here and to date there’s not been any progress, so I’m going to go ahead and post them all anyway. If we get round to mixing the last 2 at any point I’ll update this entry at that point.

Acoustic Gig: Kingston

I really enjoyed my set & feel I’m finally getting to the point where I can concentrate on the performance rather than freaking out with nerves or...

Sink Video: Live in Switzerland, 1990.
October 3rd, 2009 by Ed
About years ago Graham kindly transferred an old Sink live vid from VHS to DVD for me. The plan was to rip it and get some of the better moments up online. 5 years later and I’ve only just managed the first 2 songs I don’t think there’s any other video of Sink on t’Internet so I hope you enjoy them.
It was a weird gig audience-wise so the performance is fairly low-key...

(Another) Sink Radio Interview (1990)
September 8th, 2009 by Ed
Here’s another old Sink radio interview that I dug up a few months ago. This one’s even more nonsensical than the last one, but it’s of interest because this time I’m joined by our irrepressible drummer, Kermack. If memory serves, we’d played our fave venue in Aalborg (Denmark) the night before, but the van had broken down the next morning so we’d not been able to...

Review of the Ipswich Gig

Sorry that the aforementioned review of the Ipswich gig didn’t materialize before now. It turns out that no-one had any audio or video of our set, so I ended up not bothering with a post until now. Duncan from Billy No Mates called me last night to ask if I was interested in joining him, Wes & Steve on 2nd guitar.
